I use this every Tuesday when I don't have time to soak dal overnight. It's become my family's favourite weeknight dinner. My husband actually prefers it to my version!
The dhaba flavour is all there — the smokiness from the tempering, the split toor dal texture. I order a box of 6 every month and share it with my flatmates.
The tadka really comes through. Good everyday dal. I like mine thicker so I reduce the water.
Honestly tastes like a good dhaba dal. Weeknights got a lot easier. No preservative aftertaste at all.
Heat and eat, the way mum would, in minutes. Pick your way.

Retort sealing is what lets a cooked dish keep without a single preservative. That part is new. What goes inside it is the food this kitchen has made since 1967.
Not a replacement for home cooking. The next best thing when life gets busy.
Per serve, based on a single pouch at ₹150 serving 2.
Correct. Our retort pouch is sealed with the air pressed out, then sterilised at 121°C — the same technology the Indian army and ISRO use. Store at room temperature for 12 months. Refrigerate only after opening.
12 months from the manufacture date printed on the back of the pouch. Once opened, finish within 24 hours (refrigerated).
We won't say identical — fresh is always fresh. But the retort process locks in flavour and texture at the peak of cooking, so most customers can't tell the difference once it's heated through. For the closest result, heat it in a pan rather than the microwave.
Yes — fully sealed retort pouches are allowed in checked baggage internationally. Many of our NRI customers do exactly this.
